I am currently working on a series of cables in Inventor and am using Autocad electrical to generate the schematics.
i have created 3d cables and transferred the info to Autocad to create the schematic. I have created the schematic in Autocad and transferred the info to create a 3d cable. all works well.
The wires i am using are shielded. There is a symbol in AutoCad (that needs to be modified)that represents the sheild. I will need to add a contact/pin point in order to connect a wire. similarly i need to add a contact/pin to the connector as GND. Once that is done i will be able to run a wire from the GND to the sheild and another from the sheild to the next connector.
My issue is how to represent the shield in 3D. i need SOMETHING to connect the wires to. However, the connections will be made at the connectors and no actual (gnd) wires will be required between the connectors. Anything besides an INV wire will not automatically route or update.
How do you handle this situation??
