How to save SpaceMouse-3Dconnexion button assignments?

I am running 3Dxsoftware 3.7.22 on Win7-64 with an old Spacemouse Plus. It's an unsupported configuration but it works fine.

I am in the process of migrating to 8 and my question is: is it possible to save my button assignments so I can use it for a fresh install of 3Dxsoftware?

The button assignments are separate for each application so I'd like to save them; if I have to re-do all of them it's not the end of the world but it would save some time as well as being able to copy it to multiple workstations.

While NX is running, have you tried to open the '3Dconnexion Control Panel' dialog (usually one of the buttons on the 'spacemouse' will have been programmed to do that or you can always go down to the little pop-up panel on the Windows area at the bottom-right side of the display and double-click on the '3DXware' icon)? Once this dialog is open, under 'Options' you can explicitly save your current configuration. Of course, once you go to a new driver I'm not sure that it will allow you to upload a configuration saved from a different and now, as you say, obsolete device, but you have nothing to lose trying.

Tried it but no luck; there doesn't seem to be a way to save the configuration outside of 3Dxware.

In my 3DConnexion Control Panel there is an Options pull-down with a Save-As command. I think that should do what you want.

Thanks Jerry. I tried that but it seems it is only for saving configurations internally.
