Hi all,
I am working on some setting for config.pro & have a general idea of setting system parameters. However, I can't figure out how to set my system color.

From what I know (may not be whole part of truth), color is controlled by config.win. However, I can't find out how to set the parameters in this file, or how to load the file. (Vs. I am fine with config.pro) So far, I can set my background color in config.pro setup... this is far from what I want to do...

I searched in my installed directory, but can't find the config.win file. Can anyone tell me where I should look for?

The colours are in a file called syscol.scl
Both syscol.scl & config.win should be in the startup directory for ProE to load them.

To create/modify syscol.scl, use hydromech's information & you can choose File -> Save & save in your startup directory.

To create/modify config.win, use Tools -> Customize Screen.

Hi Hydromech, & Robertib,
I got it ! Wow! I searched for any clue on how to generate the syscol.scl file, & missed the save tab at the top!

It worked great! Thanks guys.

I have set the colours and saved them under syscol.scl in the startup directory.

How do I get Pro e to load the syscol file, I don't see any options for this in the config.win file.

????

It should be loaded up when you start Pro/E.

NB: The startup directory is the working directory that Pro/E uses when you first start it up.

Hi Hydromech,
I put the syscol file in the start up directory, but it didn't load by itself, I did it manually to load it up! Believe me, I tried many, many times to put syscol, config.win, & config.pro in different spots of hard drive, & so far, config.* files loaded up automatically, but no syscol file.

Doesn't make any sense to me, but manage to get around it.

Don't you have to set the file location in config.pro?

Hi closer9:
I searched for that file, but couldn't find it before on the list... then, I typed it in, & provide the pathway, then it worked! Thanks for the tips.

The parameters in my config.pro file probably is not utilized to its full limitation, right?!
