How to show alternate assembly positions in my draft?

I have a model of a valve body, with a shuttle valve that is either pushed in or pulled out.

In my assembly model I have 2 configurations (if that's the right term) of the model, one with the valve pushed in and one pulled out.
I created this by changing the value on one of my mates in the alternate assemblies tab.

What I would like to show on my draft is the assembly with the valve pushed in, and a dotted line (ghost outline) showing the pulled out position of the handle.

How can I get this to show up?
Thanks

You could bring a second shuttle valve into the assembly, and locate it at the "pulled out" position.
Then, in the draft, under properties for that view, set the second shuttle valve to appear as reference only.
This would cause the object line to change to a reference line.

There may be other ways to do this with families of assemblies, but I have not come across them yet.

If you do av8errrs trick, and I've done similar, change the occurrence properties of the second valve so it doesn't show up in the parts list or higher level assemblies etc.

Thanks guys.
I guess that's way I'll have to do it.
When I used Solidworks, there was a feature for that, and I expected Solid Edge to have the same.

Yes, forgot to add that.
Thanks Kenat.

I think there may be more advanced techniques for showing alternate assemblies etc Todd, Solid Edge (like SW) has so much stuff in it that even us fairly experienced users haven't always touched everything.

The plus with SW is that with more users, you're more likely to find someone that does know how to do it.

Have you looked in help or contacted GTAC/your VAR?

Alternate assemblies works well, but you cannot show both placments at the same time, if there is only one instance of the part file within the assembly. I have done this as well, but it requires having two seperate views on the draft document, each with a different orientation/placment of the shuttle valve in question. It does work well though, just more steps than you may want to use at this time.

If you don't want to show the 2 parts at the same time in the same view, you can of course create exploded configurations to show alternate locations.
