Hi,
I need help sizing a few vav or even fan powered boxes. I have the heating/cooling loads for the area. If I was to select a rooftop/split I know how go size/select the units. But in case of this system, all I have is a medeium pressure duct (dia. can be varied) from a very large very old air handler that supplies me air at about 55-60 F,( I will have to verify that). The air handler also supplies air to other areas.
thanks,

Selecting the inlet size of a variable air volume (VAV) terminal box requires the consideration of five factors: (1) pressure drop acrossthe box; (2) ability of the VAV box controller to measure and controlthe desired minimum and maximum airflow setpoints; (3) first costs ofthe VAV box, its installation, and controls; (4) noise generation; and (5)space constraints.
