Can someone provide guidance on how to specify the length and width of each floor deck panel for a known plan dimension?
What is the minimum overlap (in the length direction) and minimum sidelap (in the width direction) requirement? And how is this accounted for when preparing the bill of materials?
For example, ctr to ctr of supporting steel WF beams is 20-ft (and 2 bays) in the N-S direction and 4-ft (5 bays) in the E-W direction, with total floor deck plan to be 40-ft x 20-ft (extending from ctr of steel to ctr of steel.....if the available deck panels are 30-inches (per the catalog), then would the quantity of panels simply be 8? Or would the sidelap requirement result in needing more than 8 panels? Same question applies to the length direction....would one specify 2 panels each 20-ft long or 2 panels each a little longer than 20-ft (and by how much longer?) Assume Vulcraft 1.5 C20 1-1/2 deep.
Thank you
