Hello,

Is there a way to toggle the display of colors/appearances in a solidworks part? There are toolbar buttons for toggling display of things like wireframe, solid, shaded, zebra lines etc., but none for turning the display of colors on and off.

Something like this would be very useful because many times I add color to the model to make it look more realistic, but then it's more difficult to work with the part, especially if the color is black - it's hard to see anything.

Has someone done a macro?

Why can't you use the toggle button - 'Hidden Lines Removed?' Not too much color, yet enough detail so you see what you're doing.

SW Premium 2011
64 bit SP4.0
Intel Xenon X5650 @2.67GHz
2.66 GHz 11.9 GB of RAM

You may want to explore the display states options found at the bottom of the configuration tab.

@Nella95 What I'm looking for is shaded view, but without color.

@SnowCrash The display states are fine, if you want to keep track of many display states. But for simply toggling color on and off, it's way too many mouse clicks. When you add color in one display state it's automatically added to the other display state as well! So you have to keep going to the other display state and clear all colors in the part...just too much hassle.

All I want is a single button click to toggle colors.
