I am two separate computers with Solidworks. None of the settings are the same it seems. Drawings, parts, everything turns out differently. Is there a file that is all of the saved system settings that I can copy from one to another to make both of them the same?

I remember when I was using ProE, there was tree.cfg., config.pro, and other files that retained these settings.

Thanks,

Mike

You can try the copy options wizard in SW2004 and earlier version. Start/Programs/SolidWorks. SolidWorks Utilites is where you can find it. This will copy otion settings from one machine to another. (dosen't get them all though) The .cus file will copy keyboard shortcuts you have set up. There is no way to copy the toolbar settings.

As far as drawings, parts and assemblies those can be standardized by the use of templates. Templates save various settings for specific types of files so they are the same everytime you start a new one. Once a template is saved you can tranfer it to your other machine or put it on the network for use.

SW 2005 allows for toolbar settings to be saved and the copy options wizard now saves all settings information as well as tool bar info.

You can copy the toolbar settings, You'll have to export to user-interface settings with regedit and insert them into the other pc's reg. the adress:

My Computer\Hkey_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Solidworks\SolidWorks 2004\User Interface.

But you have to be okay with editting the registery cause this can be kinda risky. I think Scott wrote an FAQ about this, You'll problably can find it the FAQ-sections.

Grtz, Bouke
