When I hide a component in a (custom)view in the modeling environment, it doesn't update the view in the drawing. Why??

I use NX6.

There is NO associativity between the Views on a Drawing and the views in Modeling. When you add a 'Model' view to a Drawing, you are in essence creating a COPY of that Model view, it is not the actual view nor is there any 'link' created which points back to the 'original' view.

When you put the view on the drawing it becomes its own view, independent of the modeling view.
If you want to hide a component in the drawing view you can either makes its layer invisible in "visible in view" or hide the component using:
assemblies (pull-down) > context control > hide component > follow instructions in your "cue/status position" window
I am in NX6

Michel,

If you put together the two explanations given by John and later Jerry the thing to do is to simply hide the component in the drawing view instead.

Ok, thanks for the replies.
So making a view for the drawing is just a 1 time action, that's a pity. Why didn't they make it associative?

And is there any real difference between using a view from the master model (with asterix) or from the dwg.prt to put in your drawing? I know an exploded view only works in the dwg.prt.

no No NO! Drafting views are entirely associative as are the dimensions. You may need to update the views and you really need to do a course.

I think you don't understand me right Hudson.
Off course i know that views in the drawing update if a part changes.
What I mean is that when I hide a component in view in "Modeling" it doesn't hide this component in the same view on the drawing if this view already existed.

btw. I did modeling 1 & 2, adv. asm and adv. sim.

Okay, but if ever there was a chance for the sales guy to say "this is a feature and not a bug" then this would be the time. It seems to be some misunderstanding perhaps based on something you may have come to expect of other systems. You see the associativity between geometry and drafting works just fine. The only area where there is some cross over between behaviour of views from the modelling to drafting environments that may to some appear to be related to your description has to do with how explosions are maintained. Otherwise there is a straightforward separation achieved at the point where the views are added to drawings.
