how to update model's dimension

New to solid modeling. Created metal stamping solid model from stamping module. Rather simple with just few holes and 90 deg bends. However having trouble changing a dimension. Can't seem to do it from model space. Do it from sketcher. When do it fully constrained (green) geometry gets all squeejawed. Tried applying formulas to symmetrical dimensions. Same problem. Altering dimension from Definition. Why the trouble? Happy to send you drawing I have for your analysis/help. Very much amateur and I'm sure that it's simple answer.
