Hi, my name is Sergio Alejandro Ayala. Right now, I have a problem with a model that i´ve been working on. Im working this model with diferent types of models, in this case, im working with bricks elements, beam elements and plate elements.

the solids of the model was modeled in inventor, so I import all the parts. But for make the model less heavier, some parts that could be work with a diferent type of element, I choose to work this parts directly from algor, such as the elements that I want to model in beams and plate elements.

The main problem, is that when I want to create a node between a beam element and the solid that I want to mesh in the program, algor have the refinemen point tool, but i tried to used, but still I couldn´t have the node that I want to create.

can someone have the right way to use this tool ?

You may need to create four split surfaces with the intersection of the four surfaces at the location you want to connect the beam. A split surface will make the mesher create nodes along the surface edge.
