How to view nodal displacement values on the model itself?

Question: Can I display nodal displacement values in Femap?

Problem: I cannot display nodal displacements on my axially loaded rod. I only have one rod element, fixed on one side, and pulled on the other. My analysis did perform fine. I can view my results with Femap's tools, i just want to view them in a different way.

Solution: The best I came up with was using the "Beam Diagram" post processing tool, but there is the issue where for larger models the "Beam Diagram" won't be enough to conclude the nodal values.

Hello ZeroExperience,
You may understand that the CROD element do not give "too much play" regarding contour graphics, it's a 1-D element, then if you need the value of nodal displacements you can use a vector plot, using "F5 > Contour Style = VECTOR", and under CONTOUR VECTORS button "in vector 1 = total displacement". Also you will need to play with "F6 > POSTPROCESSING > CONTOUR VECTOR STYLE" to set vector style and color mode = 0..contour colors", then the result will be the following:

another way to get displacement data is view/select and pick one of the translations for deformed model.

this won't show any vlaues on the screen but it will show the deformed model, and you can interrogate nodes and see the displacement under the entity editor pane.
