Can anyone offer some advice on how to apply a temperature to the entire part for a static study? My part is basically being placed in an oven so the temperature will be a uniform 1200°F. When I apply a thermal load it ask for faces and such. I can't figure out how to select the entire body.

The only way I figured out is to make the part into a multibody part. I can then select the two bodies and apply a temperature. It seems wierd that I have to do it this way.

To give the entire body a uniform temperature you can select the part(s) on the design tree which is the list on the left side of the design area. This basically allows you to choose the whole part instead of just selecting faces to apply the temperature. Hope that helps.

My problem is that there is nothing to select if the part is only one body.

I finally figured it out. If you click selection filter and select "solid bodies" you can then select the body itself.

As YoundMechEngineer pointed out you can use the design tree to select parts for assemblies and bodies for multibody parts. However you must use the selection filter for a single body part.
