I was "requested" to move this thread from where I started it. It devolved to a discussion of HP calculators, emulators, etc.
If you're anything like me, you can't live without your HP calculator. To my dismay, they've been easing out of the calculator business (thank you, Carly). But recently they've improved and reissued the HP 15C.
Buy.com has them available.
HP direct has them sold out already, and I don't know if they'll produce more. In other words don't dawdle.

Was this really necessary? Taking the HP calculators from a "narrow" place to an even narrower?

Why not move it somewhere where everyone can take part in the discussion instead? Give it another try - and don't forget to tell us where it is.

Half full - Half empty? I don't mind. It's what in it that counts.

Where should it be moved? I'm open to suppestions. My Threadminder has a few broad categories plus some specific ones having to do with structural stuff. None of them seemed appropriate.

You could do the general pub ... or the improving myself to get ahead forum.

Skogs, it was moved here at a gentle suggestion with an even gentler suggestion to copy and paste the whole thread. Over time, I've learned it helps to pay attention to those gentle suggestions (it save getting hit over the head with the hammer -- far fewer headaches.)

New 15c just got delivered. Nice.

Mike...checked today...several 41cv's on ebay for a variety of prices....some ridiculous, some acceptable. I'm trying to find my 41cv...in a box somewhere.

I'd buy a new one but the HP15C I bought 23 years ago still works perfectly. And I'm only on the 4th set of batteries. However, the vinyl cover crapped out long ago. At $100, that's cheaper than it originally sold for when adjusted for inflation. My 12 year old HP Laser Jet 2100 printer still has a long way to go to catch up with my HP15C.

It is "out of stock" on HP's website (at $99). At other places it seems to range between $170 and $200.

It's the free market at work. eBay is currently still showing some auctions with prices under $150:

yeah, i noticed the same activity before Christmas (i.e. none available by HP, but available on ebay for more $). when i contacted HP, they told me more 15c's were being mfg'd. just keep checking the HP website or contact HP about availability.

hope this helps.

I guess a daily "to do" is to check the HP site.
