HP-gl plotting

I am trying to plot hp-gl file using solaris to a large format printer with roll feed capability. When I send the file it trims off after about 50". When I add the FR command and resend the data within the plotfile I get the whole plot but then get about 45" of blank paper at the end. This plot is about 55" , but I will be making plots from 24" to 140" long.
