I was stuck in AutoCad 14 because my hp 330 plotter plots by a different method in Autocad 2000+(2000,2002,2004). These versions do not use "hpconfig" command and I could not get 24x36 and 30x42 inch plots from autocad 2000+.

Well the solution was simple after seaching over 4,300 technical tips on hp web site. The Hp 230 poltter driver direct defaults does not cover architectual plots, you have to go into the autocad select plot then select the plotter from the drop down menu listing then select the appropiate printer driver. Well so far just standard stuff.

Here is the trick you must then select "properties" in the box next to thr printer driver box. On the "devices and documents settings" tab-high light "graphics-custom properties", then depress the "custom properties" box. Another set of tabs will appear, The next trick is select "paper" tab then press the "more sizes" box. Now "paper size" appears -check the "architectual" box (there are other drawing standards you can select by checking here on the boxes). hit ok- now you back to "paper" tab where there is "paper size box". Select the size you want such as arch 24x36.

The rest you are home free, you can now figure out what to do without so much techno-babble -like copy to folder or this plot only, etc. Now you you can plot the 24x36 drawing.

The next battle is the drawing weights which is another story that you need the play around with, but you can now plot the rights size.

A some of my client sent me there backgounds in AutoCad 2000+.

I really like AutoCad 2000+ , now don't have to save to AutoCad 14 like before and spend a lot of time rearranging the text the overlaps because of the the incompatable objects between these versions.
