From our naphtha splitter heavy straight run naphtha (HSR) is pumped hot (420 °F) to the rheniformer. Inside the rheniformer battery limits a small amount of cold HSR from tankage is mixed with the hot feed and then this feeds our rheni charge pumps. We are seeing signifcant fouling in the pump suction piping are are also experiencing chronic seal failures on the rheni charge pumps. I was wondering if anyone else has experienced such a problem?
