I’m helping to design a project that is most of HSS tube, 2x2, 4x4, and 8x2. I like using HSS for its ease of use and construction. I have one situation that I need help in determining a solution.
The design has 96 pieces per structure of 2x2x1/8 that will be left open at each end. 315 structures will be built. That means there will be over 60,000 open ends of tube. We would like to cap each of these tubes to prevent animals, mainly small birds, from nesting in the tubes and to prevent moisture from entering in the tubes.
Other than welding a plate on the end of each tube, which is expensive and very time consuming, are there any products on the market that will close the tubes? The solution need to be steel and have longevity.
Any solutions that you may have would be very helpful.
Thank you,
