human builder won't remember positions 1

I have been using the human builder to build mannequins, and then position the arms and legs to the configuration I need. Then, I save the files, but when I leave and then come back to re-open them, the mannequin is back in the default position. This is maddening - does anyone know how to stop this forgetfulness?

FYI: I use catalogues to store all positions.
works really well.

I found the catalog function, but can't get the 'Save' button to activate at the bottom. What is the sequence of steps?
