Now insert a new partbody. The new one should have a green gear in front of the partbody, indcating it is not hybrid. (the old partbody will probably be yellow or gray)
If you don't one, insert a Geometric Set
Use Reorder, or Cut&Paste to move all the geometry out of the old hybrid partbody and into the new partbody or Geometric Set. This will probably screwup all your parent/child links, so you'll have to fix them.
Once the old partbody is empty, you can delete it. (You might have to first make the new partbody the primary partbody)
Some people think it's a good idea to run CATDUAV5 to clean the file.
Dassault hasn't provided alot of information on this. But I've been told your part is non-hybrid when all the partbody gears are green (when hybrid design is disabled)
I've had mixed results doing this. The one method that always works is recreate the part in a new non-hybrid file.
There is nothing wrong with Hybrid partbodies. They can be confusing if you're not used to them, but they don't cause any problems. So another option for you, is to leave your part as-is. Some companies prefer them.
(We suggested that 787 users not use Hybrid Design. I guess the word didn't get spread to the 777 team)
Thanks Jackk, I'll give that a try on Monday. I inadvertantley had the hybrid enabled and had created several parts, even though it probably doesn't matter if they are hybrid or not, I would just like to have them all the same. FYI I'm not actually on the 777 that is just a handle, currently working the 747-8 program.
I gave this a try this morning with mixed results, I was able to switch to a non-hybrid part, but it didn't allow me to cut an paste the operations out of the old part body all in one shot I had to do each branch of the tree one at a time, in doing this any branches that linked to anything else (fillets, chamfers, etc.) all had to be manualy updated to re-pick the edges, faces, etc. that were needed for that operation.
