Hydraulic hose deterioration due to oil compatibility

I have observed a neoprene lined hydraulic hose apparently weep the oil out. This is most obvious around the outside bend radius of the hose. The fluid is Quintolubric 888.
Has anyone else seen this ?

Oh yeah, you might say I got "hosed" using neoprene tubes carrying some sort of disulfate peroxide.

I bet if you looked up the properties for Quintolubric 888, perhaps the WHIMIS sheet or manufacturer specifications, the fluid dissolves the rubber matrix leaving only the additives behind.

Kind of bogus if you are not designing a sprinkler!

Petri, All hydraulic hoses are not created equal. Some will work with some types of fluid, others will not. What your seeing is probably hose degradation due to fluid incompatibility. Check the fluid composition against the hose compatibility listing. Sounds like your using a fire proof oil know as a phosphate ester or some other exotic synthetic. This stuff loves Buna-N hoses.
