I have a waste oil tank with a 10an drain fitting. I have a 110vac, 4.86gpm waste oil pump with a 1" inlet. My question is, if I adapt the 10an up to the 1", will it work or will it starve the pump?

To get a better response for your post, it needs a complete hydraulic system diagram form tank to pump to end users.

In general, it helps the pump hydraulic with a larger size of the pump inlet, but it might not be necessary.

You're using the pump as a transfer pump. Keep the pump at or below the drain level to keep the pump flooded.
