I have a question.
We ordered a Globe Valve 10" 2500# with gear operator, manufacture applied the hydro pressure test of seat with 19Mpa.
Shouldn't the pressure test be applied with 47Mpa according to ASME B16.34?
Thank you!

You are correct that a 2.500 lbsvalve seat-tested according to ASME B16.34 should have a seat-test at 1.1 valve rating, and hence 47 megapascal.

But does the order exactly specify the seat test done and the test required? There could be a misinterpretation or divergence between the suppliers description of normal standard (normally included) delivery specifications and the exact wording of your order.

gerhardl is right.

Please check your valve data sheet (VDS). Is delta P mentioned = 19 MPa in VDS? Some manufacturers go by deplta P instead of 1.1 times of full rated working pressure unless otherwise specifically asked.

b.t.w. is valve as per BS 1873 or a control valve?

Regards!!!
