UCI-99 (Standard Hydrostatic Test)

Cast iron pressure vessels shall be hydrostatically tested by the method prescribed in UG-99 except that the test pressure shall be two times the maximum allowable working pressure to be marked on the vessel for maximum allowable working pressure greater than 30 psi (200 kPa) and 2 1/2 times the maximum allowable working pressure but not to exceed 60 psi (400 kPa) for maximum allowable working pressure under 30 psi (200 kPa)

I could not understand / apprehend the code language.

Can anyone explain "Range wise" what will be the Hydro Test pressure (2 times or 2 1/2 times)?

MAWP (0 - 30 psi) - Hydro Test Pressure 2 times the MAWP?

MAWP (30 - 60 psi) - Hydro Test Pressure 2 1/2 times the MAWP?

and for MAWP (Greater than 60 psi) what will be the Hydro Test Pressure?

Thanks

Talk about run-on sentences!

I read it as:
1) MAWP > 30 psi, then hyrdo = 2* MAWP
2) MAWP < 30 psi, then Hydro = 2.5*MAWP, but no greater than 60 psi (i.e, if your MAWP is between 25 and 30 psi, your hydro pressure is 60 psi, which is less than 2.5 MAWP but more than 2)

for the case of MAWP= 30 psi, then both rules result in the hydro pressure being 60 psi.
