Hydroflow Hydrographs Question 1

I am a fairly new user to Hydraflow. I usually use the default shape factor of 484. I realize this number would go up or down based on my environment. However, I live in the midwest, so I figured that the 484 number would be ok.

What I need to know is how this number is figured. Is there a formula or something that I can use to prove this number? Any help on this would be appreciated.

484 is usually an appropriate peaking factor for a developed site.

I'd say 484 is a safe bet. If you use hydraflow's help and search for shape factor you will find that they give limited examples on adjusting but no guidelines. I was able to find a reference that did list some applicable values other than 484 for various descriptions.
