Hydrostatic compression Tests:
Hello everyone,

In Hydrostatic compression Test:
Stress invariants are P'=q=0. Whats the reason behind it?

In [ q p'] space the effective stress path is represented by a vertical straight line which coincies with q-axis. Why and whats its reason
and application in terms of reservoir field?

Is failure expected to occur during the test? Why does it happen and why not in other tests?

Why are shear strains more relevant than volumetric strains in this case? what decides it?

How do we obtain bulk modulus of solid grains Ks in this case?
Why we cant obtain it by equal increase of hyrdostatic stress and pore pressure?
