Hello
I have to conduct a Hydrostatic test on this pipeline that ends with a flanged socket taper. The test has to be conducted at 765 kPa and the pipe has a 600mm diameter so the force applied will be approx 22T. I can put a blank flange on the socket taper but I still have the problem of the socket taper itself. If I pressurize the pipe at 765 kPa, the joint will not be enough to withstand to force applied and the socket taper will probably pop out or leak (see sketch attached). My first idea was to put weight on the socket taper so that it will counter the force but 22T is too much.
Has anyone ever had the same problem? Or an idea on how to solve this
