Dear all,
We are buying a big inset plate with 52" nozzle shop welded on it to replace the old nozzle in an existing tower. Re hydrotesting of the tower will not be performed.
We are asking part supplier to hydrotest all welds to find pin holes, such as flange to neck and neck to insert plate welds, but do we need to ask for hydrotest the entire insert plate surface where there is no welds? To me it seems not required, trusting the ASME plate will have no defect. What is your opinion ?
