Hygienization of animal manure is often mandatory when the manure leaves the confines of one agricultural operation. All hygienization processes I know dilute the manure to create a basically pumpable product, then it's either pipe-in-pipe or other HX or a jacketed vessel.
Sides substrate handling, dilution makes a lot of sense to get a decent heat transfer within the material.
I still wonder If there are technolgies/serious, working attempts for the hygienization of solid manure (TS 20-50% or more), I'm especially interested in technologies for chicken manure.
The hygienzation we are looking at is 70°C for one hour, particle size <12mm
