i would like to ask a a simple question, does hysys software is using in designing gas plants(sizing different equipments and facilities) or it is just used for simulating and modeling an existing plants??
and if it can be used in designing could anybody guide me to any reference to learn it? and if not what is software used to design gas plants
another question : what is the difference between static and dynamic modeling in hysys software and how can i learn each of them ??

there are many different software applications designed for these purposes,
see for example

the selection of a specific tool should depend from the specific field of application,
however parameters as price of license etc. have an important impact on final decision,
as first step you may contact the developers, ask for a time limited version and see if the product fits your needs.
For several reasons (lower cost, simple interface with EXCEL, simulations of simple equipments etc.)
I have selected a different product (PRODE PROPERTIES) but you may try and see.

any software is good for whatever the user can make it do. It isn't the software, ITS THE HUMAN USEING IT THAT COUNTS!

yes, it can be used to model/size different units within the gas plants.
it can do many things, from sizing a simple line to modeling and optimizing whole plants. you can both, modeling existing plants and designing new ones.

just type on google "aspen hysys tutorials" and you'll find many references.
(eg
the dynamic modeling considers the behaviour of the system in time (many sets of operating points) whereas the static doesn't (it's only one operating point). In the dynamic models if the system gets a perturbation (eg inlet flowrate in a heat exchanger increases), you can follow how the other parameters are changed in time to cope for that perturbation to reach the set points (until they reach a new steady state point, eg heating agent flow increase). You can analyse how fast the control system responses (if it does)

good luck!
