The problem we have is dross and can not seam to get rid of it. our centering is good. We are using N2 assist gas. We are using a 1.5 mill. tip. any help we be great.

DID YOU TRY TO LOWER YOUR FOCUS.AND DID YOU TRY TO ACCELERATE WHEN CUTTING 14 GA. AND THICKER YOU HAVE TO START OUT SLOW ON YOUR LEAD IN THAN GO FASTER.

yes we drop the focus to 90% of the metal thickness. I am not sure on how to accelerate after the lead in. unless I make one cut as a lead in with one peramiter then change to another peramiter for the part its self ?

THIS IS HOW WE ACCELERATE
BEAN ON IS ONE THIRD OF OUR FEEDRATE
THEN POST-LI IS OUR ACTUAL SPEED
YOU CAN FIND THIS IN YOUR MAZAK TEC FILE

IF YOU HAVE ANY QUSTIONS LET ME KNOW.

Hello,

You want to be at the bottom of the mat'l when cutting stainless steel add your mat'l thickness and your Z-gap and lower your focus accordingly.. if your flame is more on the orange side then speed up, if it is closer to white Slow down or keep the same feed. White flame can also mean that your focus is not low enough.. Orange flame can also mean that your focus is too low!!! If you know that you are down low enough on your focus then it's probably a feedrate issue . If you do not have a constant Steady Gas pressure you will experience a Burr in the places that the gas pressure was low!!

Hope this was helpful!!

Dan
