Hello all,

I read in several model files from other Engineering Program. But I find that it is difficult to rebuild or fix the model file, because there are too many error surface in this model file.

Can anyone suggest a good way to check or change the surface tolerance that i guess the main reason is?

Thanks

How Are you importing these files from the other Engineering program?

yes!! it's igs files from some other CAM program!!

Try changing the export tolerance on other program to .01mm

Or change the import tolerance in I-Deas to match your tolerance in your program you are exporting from.

Also try to import the file by type this in

/xto co bo fc im

THis is the old IGES import.

Try exporting out a Parasolid and or step. Those translate better.

Make sure you have stitch turned on when you import.

But for some business cause, I can't change the export tolerance on other program to .01mm easily.

Today, I find a good way to do...

Firstly, I clear the bad file by /xto co bo fc dc, and extract a new surface data to export.

Then read in again, and change the tolerance of the bad file to .01mm by /mo spe t mo.

So I can easily to finish my work now.

Thanks for your suggestion.
