I-DEAS roving cross section

Hi all, I used to be an I-DEAS user then moved to ProE for some time. I'm now trying to brush up on I-DEAS again and it's amasing how much you forget.
Can anyone tell be how to do a roving cross section? That is dragging a cross section plane through a part along an axis to visually check the wall thickness. I know i used to able to do it but can't think how.

There is two different ways. First this is called Dynamic clipping.

There is a icon box that was created for this in release 9 and or 10. It is under the ZOOM Icons. Just hold the zoom Icon Down and you should see something called Dynamic Clip. Mess around with this and you should be good to go.

The other way. Hold down Funtction Key F6 and move your mouse down. In the right lower corner of your display you will see three bars. MOve your mouse so the lower bar is highlighted. Then use f1 f2 and f3 to pan rotate and move the clipping plane. When you are done Hold down f6 and "bank" back up.

Thanks for your help. I turned on hardware backlighting so I could see what was going on and realised it is not treating the object as a solid. i.e. I can see the surfaces 'inside' rather than those creted by the section plane IYSWIM. Any suggestions?

OK sorted now thanks, I just found the 'caps' check button in the dynamic clip options.
