Hi,
is it possible to use the motion sensor in a security sensor light to switch an electrical appliance off?
Instead of switching the security light on, i need the motion sensor wired to something to switch an appliance off. Is this possible? If so, what item would i need to wire between the sensor and the appliance?
Thank you,
Fitzy.

You could use the motion sensor to drive a normally closed relay

Thanks for the reply IRstuff,
what relay would i require?
How would i connect the relay?
The relay will be switching off a 250w (240v) electric appliance, i will need the relay to switch the appliance back on again when the timer in the sensor has timed out, in otherwords, i need the motion sensor to do the opposite to what it is supposed to do.

I have an appliance connected to the mains, i really need someone to talk me through wiring up the sensor and relay, that when activated, it will switch off the appliance, and switch it back on again when the set timer has timed out.
I would be really grateful for this information.
Thanks again
Fitzy.
