IBC Standpipe Requirements

Does the IBC base the requirement for standpipe installations on a certain number of stories? I do know that building height and occupancy are factors, but I didn't see anything about the number of stories being a factor.

The height of the highest story determines whether a standpipe is required. See section 905.3.1 for details (2012 IBC).

You're getting bad information. The IBC requirements for a standpipe are based on the height of the highest occupied story (in feet) in relation to the lowest level of fire department access.
 
Thank you guys. I researched the IBC in section 905 before I asked here, but I wanted to be sure I wasnt missing something somewhere else.
