I'm trying find a way to satisfy the deflection requirement for this section of the code for an EXISTING installation. The code section requires that the differential deflection between two adjacent glass panels not exceed the thickness of the glass panel under a horizontal loading of 50 plf. The panels I'm looking at are tempered, 48" wide x 1/2" x 125" tall (116" clear span of glass) and they don't meet this critera according to PPG and LOF design charts. I'm considering using a C.R. Laurence Co. Mall Front Clamp

but there doesn't seem to be much in the way of engineering data on the clamps to calculate with. I can't be the first one to deal with this, are there any other solutions out there?

One alternative is to pull out the 1/2" tempered glass and go to 3/4", but that is an absolute last resort.
