Can the ID points in Auto CAD 2002 be output to a spreadsheet or TXT file automatically or do I have to do it manually?

u can make a block ( any block) and insert it in the points u want , then do a txt file in the notepad as follows:-

BL:X N010003
BL:Y N010003

save that file say (test1.txt) for example

then in the command line in autocad , type attext then enter

1- accept the comma delimited file format,

2-click select objects and select the blocks u inserted in specific points u want

3- click template file and browse to specify the file u just created ( test1.txt)

4- type an out put file name, (out1.txt for example)

5- click OK.

if every thing is ok u will get a prompt in the command line tells u the * number of records created.

then open the out put file u just created (out1.txt) with excel, just processed in the dialog boxes in Excel, untill u can c the finish button click it,

u should have now, the X,Y points of your blocks,

in case u dont need that blocks in the drawing u can freeze its layer. or even delete it, it was just a side step to get its coordinates.

i hope that helps, im trying to b specific , if u need more help in any step let me know.
