Hello everyone,
I have been using NX6 for a few months now, and am enjoying it. One thing that I cannot figure out is how to get rid of the leader line and arrow head completly from my identification symbols. This works fine with a balloon when I use it for part ID, but if I want to place a revision tag, I really dont need the leader, and since our old NX4 was set up with out the leaders, and cannot find the setting and believe me I have looked.

Thanks.

In the top of the identification symbol dialog box there is a reset button. Looks like a half circle with an arrow. Click this button and then try placing your symbol on the drawing.

I always thought that if you simply single clicked, you can place a symbol with no leader.

if you click and drag, you will get a leader.

is this not the case?

CRAZYDIAMOND,
Thank you, that is exactly what I was looking for.

My experience has been the same as Jaydenn's.

Normally it always works the way Jaydenn mentioned in the above post, but for some odd reason it started requiring a terminating object and would not allow me to create without a leader. Simply hitting the reset button solved the problem.

It may have 'solved' the problem, but hitting 'Reset', at least in this case, may have been like killing a fly with a sledge hammer. Yea, the fly's dead, but there a big dent in the furniture, but if everything is still working as expected, then I guess it was OK. BTW, if you ever find yourself once more in a state where you can't prevent the system from creating a leader, please post a note and show/tell us what the dialog settings look like. It should be easier to address this than doing a 'Reset'.

BTW, if you wish to delete a lead after the fact, leave the ID symbol itself untouched, just go to...

Edit -> Annotation -> Annotation Object...

...and select the ID symbol with the leader, and when the dialog comes up, expand the 'List' in the section of the dialog titled 'Leader'. Now select the first item in the list and hit the little 'delete' icon next to the list box.
