idw-Section views

I am using Iv 10 pro, im having problems with section view, have used it many times with no problems untill now, have created a 3.5 mtr long pump, of no more than 100 parts, i can project any view i want but not a section down the length , i see the text but no view (when i hover the curser over the area a SMALL window is highlighted). Anyone got any ideas.

Do you by chance have an imported STEP file in the assembly? What happens if you change to OpenGL from Direct3D?
