In the US, all equipment needs a UL label, regardless of whether it's built to IEC or NEMA standards. If everything else seems equal, check the physical size and weight. Upvote 0 Downvote

If so, here's a quick comparison and (I believe)is true for all major brands such as AB, Square D, GE, etc.: NEMA components are more rugged, field repairable, larger, last longer, more versatile, and generally are more costly. IEC components can do the job well, are smaller, and cheaper. That seems to be the deciding factor anymore. I prefer using NEMA whenever possible. Upvote 0 Downvote
