IF Steels, and Specifications

SAE J2329 covers low carbon sheet steels, with Grade 5 being IF, I believe. You can obtain this spec from SAE at . I will have to look further to see if there are any ASTM specs on IF steels. In the meantime, you may try the Auto-Steel Partnership website ( under the publications section-- lots of good info available, maybe some on IF (I usually recommend it for HSLA data, forming, etc.).
