Hey guys,

When preforming igesout how do I specify a unit, so that when someone opens the file in another cad software they will receive the data in the units which I specify.

Thanks in advance

There must be an options button somewhere before you save your IGES file so take a look at that and then you will be able to change the desired units.

Good luck

IGESOUT PANEL HAS A BUTON OPTIONS.. CLICK IT END THEN GO TO TAB START/GLOBAL; HERE FIND "UNITS" PULL-DOWN LIST - SELECT DESIRED UNITS; HINT: IT IS A GOOD IDEA TO CHECK YOUR UNITS IN AUTOCAD DWG BEFORE TRANSLATION; COMMAND "UNITS" - SELECT AGAIN FROM A PULL-DOWN LIST UNITS THAT WILL BE TRANSFER VIA IGES FILES

It all depends on the other software. There is no way to garauntee it is opened in teh right units. You have to comunicate that your self and indicate it with in the visable part of the file when opened.
