I am currently using an Igus Iglide J bushing (jsm-0810-08) in a rotary application (speeds of 135 ft/min) with an 8mm (h5) 440c shaft. We have recently discovered that the shaft is not as rough as we thought, and I suspect this is leading to varying degrees of stick slip, squeaks, and subsequent failure. I have shafting on order that is supposed to meet the recommended roughness of 8-12rms, and I am hopeful that this will solve my problem. But does anyone here have experience with this (or similar) material combo and application? If so, has your experience been positive or negative? Any suggestions for other things to look out for? Any suggestions on bushing alternatives?
