for outdoor humid, hot central florida. Strong structural concrete screws.

Im attaching simposon H10S and LGT2 straps to my rafters and cinder block walls. Im using simpson screws to attach to the rafters, however simpson makes no outdoor concrete screws and has no suggestions. So, Im looking for the best reasonably priced outdoor concrete screws for use in central florida.

thanks,
pa?

Call a salesman from one of the many anchor manufacturers. They usually have a good technical background. Tell them your intended purpose, the base material, if they are exposed to moisture, etc. and have them recommend a product. You say concrete and cinder block. You need to clarify if you are screwing into concrete or CMU. Here are some manufacturers to contact: Hilti, Simpson, Redhead, and Powers. You will likely need a stainless steel anchor and it may be wedge or expansion instead of screw. Being in Florida, there is no seismic, so you won't need an anchor designed for cracked concrete. However, you will need an anchor with a Flordia Product approval. The salesman should know this also.

Add ELCO to the list of manufactures to contact. They make concrete/masonry screws with 300 series stainless steel and a hardened steel tip. The problem may be that many (most) Simpson connectors are designed for nails and the screw spacing and edge distance could be too close for masonry or concrete screws to work effectively. (By the way, this post is in the wrong place, it has little or nothing to do with BIM)
