I'm only getting the first item on the clipboard

I'm only getting the first item on the clipboard, not the second or third thing I copy-clipped. Only the first thing keeps coming in. This is new with my 2006. Any suggestions?

Is PICKADD set to 1?
Are you using "copy with base point" or just Ctrl+C?

I thought pickadd controlled whether you needed to hold the shift key to add to a selection set, but I may be mistaken. Yes it is set to 1, and I'm using copy-base (from the right-button pop-up menu), to pick up with a base point.

Are the objects on locked layers?
Can you move (copy, delete) the selection set?
