Has anyone used the imageware module on NX?

It lists the capability to scan an actual product and generate a 3D model and the capability to compare a nominal 3D model to an actual part for inspection purposes.

If anyone has used it:
What hardware is required?
What modules (besides NX) are required?
How easy is it to use?

Thanks!

Manufacturinggirl,

By hardware, do you mean hardware just to run Imageware, or are you including the 3D scan hardware you will need to get your point data?

I was introduced to Imageware 4-5 years ago and it was EXTREMELY difficult to use at that time. I haven't used it in at least 4 years because of that reason. We went in another direction with our 3D scanned data manipulation software.

Now, this is just MY experience and your results may vary.

Good luck with your search!

Specifically the 3D scan hardware. That seems to be what folks here are excited about.

Imageware handles STL file information which any of the top 3D scanners can produce.

For 3d Scanner hardware, you have to make some choices:
Contact vs. non-contact
Acquisition software
Budget
3D Digitizer

Good luck with your search!
