Hello all,

I am interested in modeling high strain rate impact of a fluid filled porous structure. Previously I always used Abaqus Standard since I wasn't studying "impact". For this analysis Abaqus standard has the *soils card with which the coupled displacement-pore pressure analysis of a porous medium is possible and very straight forward. The problem is that Abaqus Explicit doesn't have that capability. It seems to me that the only option is to create a CAD model of the porous structure and use multiphysics? I have never used Explicit, and don't have a fluids background. Does anyone have experience with this? Will I need to purchase a CFD/multiphysics software to work in parallel with Abaqus Explicit? If I need to do so, what would you recommend? I will really appreciate the input!

Thanks :)
