Hi.

We have experienced with loose connection of 1 phase in 3 phases 13.8 kV system, and caused several motors/load damaged. Since the loose connection occurred at branch line (15-25 A) of 300 A feeder's load, the recloser/51N at feeder would not pickup & operated.
I need your help on analyze of loosing 1 phase, and its impact to motor, while we suspect that the motor was not protected appropriately.

The old joke...where was the last place you saw that phase?

For equipment expensive enough to protect, a $200 phase loss, phase reversal pretective device can be purchase that acts to disconnect control power to the system, thus shutting it down and protecting it until problem can be found and fixed.

Perhaps this doesn't answer your question, but what is really your question? Are you attempting to sue the power company to recoup damaged equipment cost? Good luck.
