Dear Friends,

I am aware about physical properties of Tungsten carbide like Hardness, density , T.R.S, porosity , Fracture toughness.

But My one client is asking about Impact result and one condition is that 400 j impact value of Tungsten parts.

I am not aware and never face impact test of tungsten carbide parts.

So i want to know about impact standards for tungsten parts. Is really possible impact test on tungsten parts??

You start with defining what your canonical impact will look like, i.e., what is the projectile and what velocity does the part get hit with, ala MIL-STD-376A for ballistic armor. Alternately, you need to define how your part is hitting some canonical surface, i.e., similar to MIL-810, where one corner is lift x-inches from a wooden surface and dropped. Alternately, your part is not directly struck, but it's environment is, ala MIL-S-901D, where the ship on which your part is mounted is hit by a ballistic projectile.
