When I have an accumulator design ASME with a design temperature -39/+80°C is it than necessary to do impact testing on -40°C or is impact testing on -20° enough or is impact testing anyhow required? (and where can I find it?)
The material is 34CrMo4 (SA372GR.E CL70).

I hope anybody can give me an answer!

Refer to the exemption curves in the relevant ASME code, presumably ASME VIII. Thickness is the important parameter.

Please confirm the material type. Per ASME Sec II Part A, the nominal chemical composition of SA372 GrE Cl 70 is
.3 C/ .65 Mn/ 1 Cr / .2Mo

The impact testing for the accumulator tank would fall under ASME Section VIII, Div 1, Part UCS, UCS-66. Since SA-372 is the "Specification for Carbon and Alloy Steel Forgings for Thin-walled Pressure Vessels", and Grade E, Class 70 material is not listed under Curves B thru D in Figure UCS-66, Curve A would apply. You need to obtain the design wall thickness of the accumulator tank to determine if impact testing is exempted.
